Nominations Now Open
We’re excited to announce that we’re now inviting nominations for our Charity of the Year 2026-2027 and once again, we’ll be supporting two charities.
Over the past few years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside two incredible organisations, and in 2026 we’re keen to build on that experience by partnering with:
- One charity local to York, and
- One charity with a national reach
What makes our Charity of the Year partnerships different is that they go far beyond fundraising. While financial support is important, we know that every organisation faces its own unique challenges. That’s why the support we offer is tailored to the individual needs of each charity, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
As a Charity of the Year partner, organisations can benefit from a package of support that may include
- Free training and bespoke workshops
- Access to our Train the Trainer resources and community
- Consultancy and expert advice
- Policy writing and practical guidance
- Ongoing, responsive support throughout the year
- Access to GB Shared, helping you to build local connections and support
- Plus further input shaped around what the organisation needs most
Some charities need help strengthening policies and procedures, others want to upskill their staff or volunteers, and some simply value having access to trusted expertise when difficult situations arise. Our approach is always collaborative; working with organisations, not telling them what they need.
We’re looking to partner with charities that are making a genuine difference in people’s lives. That might include organisations supporting families, reducing isolation, responding to crisis, improving wellbeing, or helping people feel safer. If a charity is creating positive change in its community, we want to hear about them.
How to nominate
Whether it’s a charity you’re part of or one that has made a difference in your life, we’d love to hear about it. To put a charity forward, simply share:
- The name of the charity
- What they do
- Why you think they would benefit from being our Charity of the Year
Nominations close on 28th February and can be submitted via our nomination form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TYTCharity
Once nominations close, we’ll create a shortlist before selecting our two Charity of the Year partners for 2026-2027.
Your nomination could help us provide meaningful, tailored support to two organisations that are changing lives, both here in York and across the country.
We can’t wait to see who you put forward.
