About Gilli
Gilli has worked in specialist safeguarding roles within health, charity and social care settings since 1989, and as an independent safeguarding consultant (Director of Universal Safeguarding Solutions Ltd) since 2013. She is passionate about her work and recognises that the trust placed in her by organisations is a huge privilege.
Gilli has current and transferable strategic and operational safeguarding experience and expertise across all sectors - nationally and internationally. She believes that every conversation – in training, supervision, consultancy and with colleagues – has the potential to change lives and transform attitudes and practice if it is done right. What Gilli does is very much an extension of who she is. She is an expert by experience in domestic abuse and sexual violence, and as a single parent.
Gilli provides independent safeguarding risk assessment and case management support to several organisations as an independent panel Chair, safeguarding and governance consultant, supervisor, and trainer. She is passionate about EDI, social justice and working in the youth, charity, criminal justice, faith and sport sectors. Gilli also works with a number of multi-national corporations and NGOs.
Her approach is founded upon subject expertise, experience in practice, partnership, respect, and change theory.
All of it was very thought provoking and gave me great opportunities to reflect on my own practices, and where to improve.Taye Training Delegate
