About Dionne
Dionne gained Qualified Teacher Status in Primary Education in 2007 and has spent her career supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and faiths. Throughout her work in education, she has been committed to helping individuals overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their potential.
Before becoming a teacher, Dionne worked as both a volunteer and paid mentor, supporting young people facing a range of challenges, including family difficulties, housing issues and access to education and employment. Her personal and professional experiences have shaped her strong belief in equity, integrity and the transformative power of education.
Throughout her teaching career, Dionne became increasingly aware of the importance of safeguarding, wellbeing and ensuring that people receive the support they need to thrive. These experiences led her into her current roles as a Specialist Study Skills Tutor and Specialist Mentor, supporting disabled university students to navigate challenges, develop confidence and succeed in their studies.
Dionne is passionate about creating supportive and inclusive environments where people feel listened to, valued and empowered. She believes that knowledge has the power to transform lives and is committed to helping others recognise their strengths and achieve their goals.
Dionne, you delivered a really well balanced, informative and reflective session. You have a lovely calm but engaging tone and pace, and your creation of spaces for discussion was excellent.Taye Training Delegate
