Gemma McDonald

Train the Trainer Coordinator

As Train the Trainer Coordinator, Gemma supports enquiries, administration, outreach, and partnership development for the programme. She manages resources, ensures smooth delivery, and provides direct support to trainees and interns, while also building partnerships and contributing to outreach activities that strengthen the programme’s impact.

Gemma completed Train the Trainer in 2022 and has since delivered in-house training for a variety of organisations. Over the past two years, she has also mentored others on the programme, giving her valuable hands-on experience in facilitation and in supporting adult learners to develop their skills and confidence.

With a background in education, Gemma brings strong organisational skills and a passion for teaching and learning. She is dedicated to creating engaging, learner-focused experiences and is motivated by seeing people grow in confidence and apply new skills in practice. Her commitment to empowering others through education underpins her approach, ensuring the learning she supports has a meaningful and lasting impact.

Beyond her work, Gemma runs her own theatre company, Generate Theatre Company, and enjoys being part of the creative process. She also performs in amateur productions in York, staying connected to her love of the arts. For the past ten years, she has taken on the role of the comic in the Joseph Rowntree Theatre pantomime – oh yes she has! – a highlight of her year that brings plenty of fun and laughter.
