About Humie

Humie is an award-winning equality, diversity and inclusion specialist with over 30 years’ experience in public and community work. Her mission is making sure that disadvantaged groups, people from minority ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities are championed and listened to.

Humie co-chaired the Learning Disability Ministerial Advisory Group for the Welsh Government, helping to oversee plans to improve the lives of those with learning disabilities, and her work in advisory roles have gone on to help shape the Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan.

Currently, Humie also facilitates TUC Cymru’s Activist Development Programme. Through this role, she delivers training on anti-racism and social justice, helping women and ethnic minority members build the skills to challenge discrimination at work.
