‘By including both emotional and intellectual learning styles and utilising accelerated learning techniques, ‘Engaging’ ensures that all individuals benefit from equitable and effective learning experiences, whether they are accessing them through an online platform or in a traditional classroom setting.
An engaging training experience ensures that participants enjoy the session, remain motivated throughout, and leave with valuable insights. The goal is for delegates to have their learning needs met so that they feel confident about the subject and implementation of their new knowledge and skills.
This part of the methodology focuses on keeping delegates alert and maximising retention. It covers individual learning styles and how to use accelerated learning techniques to make training engaging and interactive.
“The accelerated learning really stuck with me, especially being neurodivergent. Encouraging delegates to participate in activities which stimulate their senses to help keep their brains engaged not only supports engagement and learning, but also communicates to delegates that they are valued. As a facilitator I want them to have a positive and enjoyable learning experience.”

"The struggle that some people have to stay alert and retain information isn’t anyone’s fault. As individuals, we all learn differently. We all have a specific sense that helps us to stay alert and retain information, but physiologically, we are not made to sit for hours and hours listening to someone talk. We need to be engaged." (Page 84, Transform your Training)
The approach includes exploring different teaching methods, activities, ideas, and ways of sharing information to ensure training is unique and interesting. It recognises the differences in people and aims to meet everyone’s needs.
"We work hard so that every delegate has their personal learning needs met. If they are giving us a day of their time, we want to make sure it is worthwhile for them by making the case examples, activities and learning relevant to their daily concerns and customer group, and using engaging learning methods" (Page 107, Transform your Training)
There is no excuse for boring, uninspiring training.
“I couldn’t tell you how many safeguarding courses and seminars I’ve attended in my 25 years of frontline working, but this was the most engaging one I’ve attended during that time.”
