Train the Trainer
Subject Content and Assessment Information
This Train the Trainer programme is an introduction to teaching and does not cover a specific subject. Participants select subjects to develop a microteach for assessment purposes. The course covers all four steps of the Training 4 Influence methodology in detail plus an optional module covering on-line delivery.
- Understanding the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training;
- Understanding and using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in education and training;
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.
The TtT course also focuses on all training being solution focused, trauma informed and values-led. It has been proven to significantly influence the way training is delivered to ensure it is relatable, engaging and equitable, whilst also benefiting staff motivation and retention.

Assessment
There are 3 elements to the overall assessment of this qualification.
On-Going Assessment
This is built into the course modules and consists of questions to check your understanding of the course material. They are short (approx. 5 mins) and can be taken more than once. To progress further in the module, you do need to answer these questions correctly.
Written Assignment
Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to make notes on each module and then use these to complete the assignment questions. You will be provided with clear guidance on each question, and you are not required to write ‘War and Peace’ for each answer! We would not normally expect more than 500 words per question.
Practical Assignment
During the course you will have been working on developing a course that you can deliver via a microteach. This may be adapting a course you have delivered before, or you may create a new course. The delivery of part of this course will be observed and it is your opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the Training 4 Influence methodology by putting it into practice.
Your written and practical assignment will be examined and we aim to provide your overall result within four weeks of the practical assessment. You must pass both the written and practical assessment to be awarded the qualification.
After achieving the qualification, you will be invited to a graduation ceremony to celebrate your success. Additionally, you will receive six months of free access to our facilitator community, allowing you to continue benefiting from our support and ongoing CPD opportunities.
